Jedox Feature Voting Tool

Dear Jedox User,

in our continuous strive to improve our services, features and to help you gain your share of this ever growing market we are introducing the Jedox Feature Voting System.
This new service is currently exclusively available for you, our Users and Partners.

What is this Jedox Feature Voting System?
It is a tool that provides you with the options to create and vote on Feature request, Ideas and any other general Feedback.
This in return provides us with the necessary Information to react and provide you with the things you need.

We invite you to browse this Page, create and vote on new Features, Ideas and requests!

How can we improve Jedox Software?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Sorting function for cell area

When having a table in an report with more columns, not necessary a dynarange, it is often useful to be able to sort based on the different columns, e.g. turnover, order intake, custoner name etc like we now it from excel when working with tables.

It is today possibel to sort as part of a dynarange, but then it is either an attribute of the dimension or a value and at the same time complicated because the dynarange has to be controlled with more variables etc.

this should be done more easilely.

  2. SAP extract from Extractors

Enable extracting data from Extractors in SAP.
    Benefits:
    - works in BW and ECC (BW not required)
    - delta-capable. SAP managed process for easier incremental loading and faster loads
    - built-in business logic like joins implemented already by SAP
    - proven. SAP uses these to load BW
    - customizable

  3. Search in Droplist (Combobox)

When you have a long list e.g. Customers in Combobox, we should have be able to search for customer when running in Report Manager

  4. Improve usability of Groovy function editor

Actually the groovy function editor is not reflecting the high maturity which Jedox Integrator has reached now.
You cannot even resize it if you have to develop a more extended logic.
More real-time validation of the code and debugging support would also bring a big value add.

  5. More options to rename columns in resultsets of extracts and table transforms

just a simple thing (from user perspective)

it would be great if all extracts and table transforms would have directly the possibility to assign new column names for the resultset.
This would increase maintainability and transparency of the ETL projects.

  6. SetVariables transform in Jedox Integrator

Sometimes it is needed to fill variables from a datasource.
For this task right now you always need a Groovy Job.
    which has 2 disadvantages:
    - it is not supported by a graphical user interface
    - it is somehow disconnected from your dataflow in terms of debugging/preview in subsequent steps

So a kind of SetVariables transform would be great.

  7. Description of Extracts/Transforms/Loads as Tooltip in Process FlowChart

Each Extracts/Transforms/Load component in Jedox Integrator has a description field.

The content of the description field shoud be shown as a tooltip in the process flow chart on mouse over the respective component.

This would make the maintenance of a project esp. over longer times much easier by providing fast and good transparency about the project.

    Thanks

  8. Denormalization: generate Columns automatically

In Denormalization table transform I have to configure each measure column one by one manually with aggregation, type etc.

But based on the given measure/normalization column the system could generate them automatically -> at least as an initial suggestion with standard settings (sum aggregation, type numeric etc.).
This can then be fine tuned manually by the user if needed

  9. Description of Load modes directly in Jedox Integrator

When you configure a Load step in Jedox Integrator it would be great to display a description of the selected Load mode (create, update, add, insert) next to the dropdown list.

I guess everyone who is not really everyday working with the Integrator is a bit annoyed by all the time going back to the knowledgebase to verify the detailed meaning, distinction and implications of those modes for certain different targets (dim, cube, relational, rule, ..)

  10. rolling forecast

Prospect requested a rolling forecast in a demo yesterday. This would be a nice addition to the existing content.

  11. Receive data from .NET Webservice with SSL

To receive data from our asia department, we are using a .NET Webservice that is secured via SSL. To our disappointment, we have been informed that Jedox currently doesn't support this combination of technologies.

  12. Improvements PALO.ESELECT

    1.
If ESELECT refers to a flat subset (no hiearchies), the flat list should be shown in the correct sort order. Right now ESELECT shows a hierarchical view and the sort order is not the same as in the subset defined.

    2.
The "feature", that what ESELECT displays in the cell (Attribute) and what the content of the cell is (Elementname), is totally annoying and leads to misunderstandings and problems at the customer's side because PALO.DATA only works with a direct reference to the ESELECT-Cell but not on cells referencing the ESELECT-Cell.

  13. Allow Install of Excel Plug-in subsequently to install of Server components on the same machine

On most servers Excel is not installed. Hence, during the install of Jedox it is not possible to install the Excel plug-in. We just install OLAP, Web, Tomcat etc.
Subsequently it is not possible to add the Excel Plugin to the install on the server (at least so it seems) once it was decided that Excel is also installed on the server after Jedox was installed originally. One has to uninstall the server components and then completely re-install everything, just to add the Excel plugin. It would be nice if the installer was capable of installing the Excel Add-In, AFTER…

  14. changing row height should move comboboxed / checkboxed etc.

If you use controls (comboboxes for example) inside a report and you insert a new row to the report above the controls the new inserted row moves all controls below the new row automatically. So the controls still are correctly placed
Then: if you only change the height of a row this does not affect controls that are below the modified row. All controls all are no longer at the right place...

I miss a checkbox in the "change row height" dialog: [x] "also move controls below the affected row" that also moves controls.

Example: Row has heigth of 20,…

  15. subset - guess arguments for DFILTER (argumente raten)

It is quite annoying to fill all dfilter arguments for a dynarange if there are several subsets in a report and if the cube has many dimensions.
for the palo.datac - function you have a "guess arguments" - checkbox. Could you introduce this for subset's data filter, too? This would save much time!

  16. In Excel, let users choose to which Jedox Web connection to publish when multiple connections are available

When a user has multiple Jedox Web connections available (e.g. for Dev and Production) the "Publish" functions as well as Data Driven Modelling etc are just using the "default" Jedox Web connection. It would be good if users could actually select to which Jedox Web server they want to publish when they click the publish button. (Especially important when you start using Cloud on multiple instances).

  17. Bug: dynarange does not use available width

See file. Why is the available width not used?
    This should be used!

  18. date picker as interval

In many reports I need to consider date intervals. for example beginning is
    2012-11 and end is 2015-03
    Calendar is
    - All Years
    - Year
    - Quar.
    - Month
So a macro calculates all needed Elements:
    - 2011-11, 2011-12, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015-Q1
This is quite circuitous. having an input form that calculates these interval for date dimensions (depends on the definition)
    - Years
    - Quart.
    - Weeks or Months
    - Days
would make work with jedox much easiert!

  19. Monitor: Auto-Refresh of Monitor Output does not scroll to bottom (=newest entry) automatically

The monitor refreshes after some seconds but the new output is not visible because scrolling to the bottom of the output is not done automatically.
    This would be nice!
Another way: Reverse the output's display (newest lines on top) and there is no scrolling / displaying-problem any more.

  20. Cache for Tablejoins

Table, Tree (etc) Joins should be able to be cached in memory or at disc in the same way caching of extracts is possible
