  3. Semi-additive measures: AverageNonEmpty, LastNonEmpty

    It is very helpful that Jedox has implemented the first semi-additive measures in version 6.
    (AVG, Last/First Child)

    It would be great if this could be continued by 2 more of them:

    1.)
    Most important would be AverageNonEmpty, to get an avarage only across children, who have a real value.

    2.)
    Another one would be LastNonEmpty, which should give you in a certain time period the last real value.

    Examples:
    .. if you monitor price changes or inventories, it should give you the last price or the last stock value for each product in a year
    (independent if this value…

  4. Possibility to use the 'case when' statement in Rules, in case of a lot of if's a case statement makes rules a lot easier to understand

    In case of a lot of if's a case statement makes rules a lot easier to understand and to modify.

  5. Splashing for string elements

    Possibility to splash a string to aggregated cell so every base cell will have the same string afterwards. Practically this would mean adding support for splashing strings via splash operation ! and also adding support for copy operation with strings. #12251

  7. Additional argument in PALO.DATA function to omit hashtag (#) sign for data splashing

    There are uses cases when data input on consolidated level is required and using # is only an additional step for end-user. PALO.DATA function should have an optional argument that would enable inputs on consolidated levels without using #.

  8. Rule Editor usability/GUI - grouping in folders

    The rule editor is very powerful but hard to understand from a business user point of view. The user interface could be improved in terms of usability and structure.
    A grouping of rules in a folder structure would help a lot here rather than having all rules in a huge list. However users may need to switch between folder and list view to check the order of the rules.

  9. Add support for lowest X elements ( e.g. 'Flop 10') in a Subset

    Currently only supported whole positive values are supported for the data filter, e.g. 'Top 10' values. It should be possible to use negative values to define e.g. -10 for 'Flop 10' values. #15332

  10. Use Standard Alias for Dimensions in Pase View

    On a per user and per dimension basis information about the last selected alias should be stored and retrieved, when opening a new view.
    That would help users to work faster with their data.

  11. Aggregated total of a subset via PALO.DATA

    It should be possible to get an aggregated total value across dynamic selections from the OLAP server.
    Example: get a total revenue value accross selected products matching a certain criteria.

    So it should be possible to get an aggregated total of a subset out of a single PALO.DATA formula,
    like this:

    PALO.DATA ("myDB","ProductCube",PALO.SUBSET(<filter/conditions>), ...)

    instead of only getting the value for dimension elements via:
    PALO.DATA ("myDB","ProductCube","ProductGroupA", ...)

  12. Dynamic Time Series

    Possibility of evaluating and YTD MTD data without appropriate hierarchy. This is relevant for evaluations of daily data.

  15. Make global subset definitions independent of IDs

    Global subsets are currently stored with IDs referencing elements. THis leads to broken global subsets whenever a dimension is loaded in modus update or transfered to the production environment via the new database script functionality.

  16. Semi-additive measures accross multiple dimensions

    Currently you can only select one dimension in the cube. We have a requirement to average all dimensions on all hierarchy levels. That is on the very highest level, you want to see the average of everything in the cube and on all levels down.

  17. Historize consolidation factors

    A possibility to set consolidation factors depending of several dimensions would dramatically increase the slowly changing dimensions (SCD, see Kimball's bibles) management possibility of Jedox OLAP server.

    Example:
    in 2014 is my Regions hierarchy as follows:
    West
    => France
    => Germany
    => Belgium
    East
    => Poland

    in 2015 Germany will be moved in East:
    West
    => France
    => Belgium
    East
    => Poland
    => Germany

    To manage that I must have 2 different element "West" and "West-2015". That's ok for such a trivial example but when dealing with P&L hierarchy for instance that can really become very complex, especially for the…

  18. Offer a data filter for sorting

    n other tools there is beside data filter definition for the values a seperate definition for sorting.
    For what purpose?

    There is a sales report for example with two columns (Year 1, Year 2)
    and several rows (Items).
    In data filter for values you define Year1 and Year2.
    If you want to get items sorted for Year1, the only way in Jedox is to do it in datafilter. But then you will miss those items, wich have only values in Year2, but not in Year1.
    With a seperate data filter for sorting you won't loose them.
    This is good practice.

  19. Offline Copies

    Ability for users to download offline copies of the database for reporting that they can query locally. This is a feature that MIK-ONE had and is a stumbling point for many of our customers who have field based staff who quite often have no internet access.

  20. PALO.EPARENT and PALO.ELEVEL relative to specific root element (parallel hierarchies)

    PALO.EPARENT and PALO.ELEVEL work well if you have only 1 hierarchy within a dimension.

    But if you have more than one hierarchy it would be great to give a certain root element as parameter and get the parent and or the level in exactly this specific tree.
