Let us know how we can make Jedox even better!
Security rights in Jedox are always handled on an object basis. I.e., a Jedox admin always has to navigate to the object itself (database, report file/folder, ETL project, or group dimension right cubes etc) and then set rights accordingly.
While the current process is especially for the very first rights definition sufficient (and/or when new objects (new databases, ETL projects etc) are added), it lacks in efficiency for another task: Assigning appropriate rights for groups that have been newly created.
It would make it much more easier to align rights of a new group, when there was a way to set rights having the group as starting point (maybe other groups for comparison) and then list all the objects where rights may need to be set.
It would be already very helpful, if in such a UI e.g. only objects would be shown, where an explicit right has already been set for any group. That way it could be very compact, as it would focus on the relevant objects on that Jedox server.
Note: This could potentially become quite complex to represent, especially with dimension element rights. Nevertheless, it would be a great benefit.
