Let us know how we can make Jedox even better!
The main goal of this idea is to put a timestamp on every file that could download in jedox(like DB or integrator project(xml)), this could ease some process and increase the traceability.
Here is it :
First, in the setting each user could define a timestamp format like 'YYYY-MM-DD' or 'DDMMYY', we could imagine a combobox that propose multiple dateformat or a string field that allow the user to freely put it format.
Then we have another setting, a combo box with 2 values 'Suffix' and 'Prefix'. With this setting the user could control where the timestamp should be put in the file name(start or end).
Now we have these settings, and we can now go to the second part of the idea.
When the user will try to download something like a database, in the download windows we could add a checkbox that allow the user to use timestamp for this download. The checkbox will be checked by default. If no format are in the settings there will be no timestamp on the file name.
Hello, thank you for providing more details on your idea. While we cannot commit to a specific target version, we will consider adding it to our future internal backlog.
On the sameday when we download multiple time a jedox component like a database or the integrator when these files get download they are automatically rename by the browser because they are present multiple time with the same name, so in the download folder we have something like this : database, database(1), database(2),... and so on. To prevent this behavior and have a precise way to dated our object it should be interestring to timestamped them when we download them.
