A Canvas is meant to be a public report. If you accidentally choose a private view, you will not realize your Canvas will not work for others in your own testing. This avoids a whole bunch of failed reporting issues.
I totally agree with this point. Furthermore I would add, that having the possibility to use a dynatable/ view that is not stored as a public view is very beneficial. Not every report existing in the system should be automatically visible throughout the entire system and database. Thus something like a sandbox mode for this report only would be great (Although I think the recently introduced version 2024.2 does include this maybe already)
