Thanks for the idea. This feature already exists in the Jedox cloud console.
The Console automatically does a telnet to each of the routes defined in the Routes list. If a telnet fails, this is shown as a warning in the console including information which of the routes could not be established.
Since this is not clear for the user, we will however add a note to the VPN settings.
