There should be a simplified method for annual data splashing in forecasts without altering the actual periods while still achieving the target value. Currently, when data is splashed on an annual basis and actuals from previous periods are copied, it does not yield the desired target value.
My Suggestions:
Develop a splash command that first deducts the actual monthly figures from the annual total (including values copied through rules) and then distributes the remainder across the planned periods.
Create a procedure with the hold manager that allows for the simplified locking of previous periods in the forecasts, enabling the annual values to be allocated to the planned months effectively.
Forecasts are increasingly being requested in the future, so it would be beneficial to enhance the annual data splashing process.
