Let us know how we can make Jedox even better!
Sorting by element name does not always work as expected from a user point of view. This can be very confusing to the user. E.g. when only displaying base elements (hierarchical filter), the sort by element name (or attribute) does not work at all.
Only switching layout to flat will bring the result, which is intended. This is not intuitive at all for a user when editing the subset.
This affects dyna rangen as well as subsets in general.
The knowledge base covers this topic partially in a very cumbersome way. There it references to the PALO.SORT() function. However, a user, that sets up a subset with the editor does not want to cope with limitations of technical issues, which incur under the hood.
Thank you for your idea and relating the support ticket number, we consider we have enough information to move this idea to Future consideration. While we cannot commit to a specific target version, we will consider adding it to our future internal backlog.
Hi,
hope the screenshot was sufficient enough. As cen be seen there, the result is not sorted like the setting sugests. Simple as that :-)
There is a hierarchical filter in place, that limits the resultset to base elements only. There is also a ticket 00297125 for further context.
