At the moment it's possible to set a general setting for the usage of palo.el formulas instead of palo formulas. In addition to that, it would be beneficial to have an option in the "Paste data function dialog" to choose for the palo.el formulas or palo formulas. This dialog would also be benefial if you want to rebuild a view. Then we would always be free to choose whatever option we want in the specific context.
Thanks for the idea. We evaluated this internally, and for now we’ve decided to keep the PALO.EL setting centralized, since it affects all PALO formulas in a workbook.
That said, your point about the discoverability of the setting is well taken. We are reviewing improvements to our settings experience, and we’ll consider this feedback as part of that work.
