Native Lock/Unlock of Dimension Elements and Controlled Fact Deletion in Modeller

Description
Currently, Jedox does not provide an out‑of‑the‑box mechanism in the Modeller to lock or unlock dimension elements, nor a native way to selectively delete fact data based on dimensional selections. These actions must be implemented via custom rules, ETL logic or workarounds, which increases complexity, maintenance effort and risk of errors.

In contrast, comparable planning platforms such as SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) already offer native capabilities to lock dimension members and to manage data scope‑based deletions directly in the planning model. Screenshots from SAC illustrating these features can be attached for reference.

Requested Enhancement
Provide native Modeller functionality to lock and unlock dimension elements. Locked elements should prevent data entry, modification or data loads while remaining available for reporting and aggregation.

In addition, introduce an out‑of‑the‑box function to selectively delete fact data based on dimensional filters. The selection logic should follow the same dimension‑based restriction approach as the lock/unlock mechanism, allowing administrators to precisely define the scope of deletion by dimension members, hierarchies or ranges.

Why it matters
Locking dimension elements is a standard requirement in enterprise planning processes, especially for closing periods, locking approved versions or restricting changes after submission cycles. Selective fact deletion is equally important for data corrections, forecast resets or scenario recalculations without impacting unrelated data.

Since SAP Analytics Cloud already provides these capabilities natively, this functionality has become a market expectation. Bringing similar features to Jedox would reduce reliance on custom ETL and rules, improve governance and usability, and align Jedox more closely with established best practices in modern planning platforms.

Example Use Cases
Locking closed periods or approved cost centers to prevent unintended changes.
Targeted deletion of planning data for specific scenarios or versions prior to re‑forecasting.
Partial data resets without affecting historical or approved data.
