We want a "Time Dimension" not a generic one. It is important to have functionality for planning on rules like aggregates YTD, MTD or Day plus n days, Month + n months. Currently the Time Dimension requires a lot of work and in every singular case you must use different time dimensions and/or tricks
Couldn't agree more. In theory we should have only 1 single time dimension in a cube and then be able to use it's "attributes" whichever way we need (e.g. weeks on columns, years on rows in a paste view). I think SSAS works in this way (not 100% sure).
