Let us know how we can make Jedox even better!
We have clients who archive previous databases from prior years (but these are still saved on the Jedox server so they can access the database if needed).
By default, Jedox loads all databases into memory at server startup. This means the inactive databases are unnecessarily using RAM and impacting performance.
To improve server performance, we then log into the OLAP Browser and manually Unload these inactive databases. But then on server restart after each nightly maintenance, these databases are loaded again.
Oracle Hyperion had a flag that one could check per database that preventing the automatic load on server startup. This would be helpful for Jedox.
Thank you for your great idea. While we cannot commit to a specific target version, we will consider adding it to our future internal backlog.
This will save Jedox money!!! Disable feature for inactive databases should get a priority! There are hundreds if not thousands of models out there that are not active and chewing up RAM which costs Jedox money for the RAM. We have customers that save multiple copies of older versions of their models for development and for old Chart of Account reports that are not actively used on even a yearly basis. Plus it will make Jedox more stable when a memory spike hits.
