The Scheduler currently lacks the ability to exclude specific weekdays (e.g., Saturday and Sunday) from execution schedules. This results in unnecessary data refreshes during non-business days and generates avoidable data consumption.
Since cloud data warehouse costs are often driven by data processing and consumption rather than infrastructure, preventing unnecessary weekend refreshes can provide meaningful cost savings for customers.
Please add a weekday selection option to Scheduler jobs, allowing administrators to choose exactly on which days a process should run.
See attached screenshot of the out-of-the-box scheduling option available in Microsoft Power BI as an example of how this functionality could be implemented.
Thank you for contacting us; however, this capability already exists in the Scheduler. If you select “Cron” as the trigger type (instead of “Interval”) when setting up the task, you’ll get full control over exactly which days (and times) a job runs, including excluding weekends.
