Let us know how we can make Jedox even better!
It would be nice to have an option to control data entry using Paste Views. Currently, Paste Views by default provide ability to enter the data (As long as user has write access).
My suggestion would be to have a checkbox in Paste View option where we can choose if it can be used for data entry or not. This checkbox should also be available as an authorization object so that admins can disable it for the users if it is required.
We have created input templates using dynaranges and our users (involved in planning) would like to create their own reports using Jedox excel add-in.
As per the current functionality, we are at risk of changing planning submission if we provide users excel add-in with authorization to create views and we would like to restrict it.
Exact similar functionality is available in other EPM excel add-ins
Thanks for the idea. This feature already exists in Jedox. You can find more information about it in the Jedox Knowledgebase.
For the Excel Add-In, we've added a new role object "cell data Excel" that controls whether users assigned to the role can write back data in Excel or not. https://knowledgebase.jedox.com/jedox/security/rights-objects.htm
As part of a Web Spreadsheet, the data entry can be controlled via options in the Paste View dialog and per default it is read-only (i.e., cells are "locked" in user mode). https://knowledgebase.jedox.com/jedox/planning/paste-view-options.htm
