Number formats in (Excel 365) views

It currently is difficult to control number formats in the Excel 365 addin views. They initially will be set something like "0" (standard number format - show value w/o decimal digits or thousand separator).

This is often okay, but there are often situations, where I have a Percentage ("0 %" in terms of number format). Which means 10% (aka 0.1) will be shown as 0 due to missing decimal digits. There are other use cases too, especially without thousand separators it's difficult to identify large numbers.

The number formats might already be stored in the database (dimension attribute - native Jedox "function" or from a list). It would be great, if these number formats can be pulled and used, just like a pasteview in a web spreadsheet.

Otherwise a manual format for (a) the view or (b) a dimension on an axis or (c) an element of a dimension on an axis would be good to edit/set up in a view. Kind of similar with web spreadsheets, too.

    Hi everyone,

We've reviewed the idea regarding number formats in Views for the Add-in for Excel 365 and wanted to share a current workaround for the issue:

    1. In the Modeler, define the number format for the specific Dimension-Element you're working with.

    2. Create a View in Jedox Web, and activate the number format in the cell properties section.

    3. Save the View.

    4. Open the View in Excel via Stored Views. Your number format/style applied should be displayed in Excel:

I hope this helps while we work on permanent improvements. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Thank you for your great idea. While we cannot commit to a specific target version, we will consider adding it to our future internal backlog. If you can add further information about the context of this feature, please add it here so we can evaluate it more fully.

Maybe related (probably not Excel 365 though) https://feedback.jedox.com/ideas/JS-I-611
